As the cool fresh morning air blew on to my face, it would help me wake up.  I was getting into the car along with eight of my family members; we were on our way to the outskirts of town to go pick berries.  I was only 9 and I was already working to help support my family. The long hard day of work would start even before the sun would rise up on the horizon.  As I walked through the rows of the strawberry field, I hated how I would see slugs.  By the time I started picking berries the bottom of my pants and shoes were all wet from the freeze that was on the plants.  After a few minutes of picking berries, my hands were freezing cold and really dry.  The afternoon did not get any better as it started to get hot outside.  Sometimes I would imagine myself at home sitting on the sofa, eating popcorn.
